Redshift (music)

Redshift are a British electronic music group, founded in 1996 by Mark Shreeve. Their musical style ranges from Berlin School to dark ambient. Their sound is largely dependent upon older synthesiser technology, notably instruments such as the Moog 3C which they combine with more recent digital technology.

Concerts

Redshift live performances are rare due to the expense and logistics involved in taking older analogue gear on the road.[4] As of 2011, Redshift have performed a total of seven live concerts, with all of those performances being released as live albums.

Trivia

The first letter of the title of each of the first nine albums can be combined together in a particular pattern to spell out the name of the band. Take the first letter of the albums Redshift, Ether, Down Time, Siren, Halo, Faultline and Toll. The remaining letter i is formed by using the first letter of the album Last, and placing the first letter of the album Oblivion above it as the dot.

Associated Bands

Mark Shreeve and Ian Boddy are also known for their joint project ARC.
